Superluminal quenches to critical points

I will describe a non-equilibrium protocol in which one can prepare the ground state at a relativistic critical point in d=1 by quenching locally from a nearby massive ground state. During the quench a parameter domain wall sweeps across the system just slightly above the speed of light.
