I propose a new picture to describe reactions of quantum gases based on mixing of quantum fields. Key features are exemplified and contrasted with condensed matter, cosmological and non-linear optical systems.
The first example is phase-matching and entanglement in the reactions of atomic and molecular quantum fields. We test predictions based on atom-molecule interferometry.
Our second example is Bose-Fermi mixtures near an interspecies Feshbach resonance. Multifaceted measurements reveal pairing of bosons mediated by fermions, highlighting impurity and Efimov physics in reactions of quantum mixtures.
