Group meeting via video conference, Zoom
Tuesday, January 18th, 09:00 am (MEZ)

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we are still holding our group seminars and journal clubs via video conference. This procedure enables us to continue our research, enhance discussions and exchange important information.

Abstract:

This presentation introduces my recent work in the fields of quantum sensing and quantum optics. First, nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers in diamond have attracted attention as magnetic field sensors with high spatial resolution. Our work focused on designing and building a highly sensitive nitrogen-vacancy-center-based magnetometer, which can operate at zero-bias-magnetic field conditions. Second, studying the strongly correlated interaction is a fundamental aspect as the possible emergent strong nonlinearity and abundant non-trivial phenomena in the field of many-body physics. We conducted experiment of many-body interaction enhanced nonlinearity based on the Rydberg D-state polaritons. We observed a nonlinear response with a peaking shape, which is consistent with the many-body dephasing model.
