Driven Bose–Einstein condensates in optical cavities have emerged as a powerful platform to probe many-body physics with long-range interactions. Such experiments, demonstrating Dicke superradiance and self-ordering phenomena, have so far focused on 3D atomic clouds in the absence of defects. In this talk, I present an optical accordion lattice setup aimed at creating a 2D superfluid coupled to a cavity. I will discuss how we expect vortex dynamics to influence superradiancebehavior and how the cavity can be used as a non-destructive probe of a bilayer superfluid state. Studying such systems, where coherence emerges from coupling despite the high temperature, can provide insights into high-temperature superconductors, various synchronization phenomena, and Josephson physics.
