Group seminar at MPQ lecutre hall and Zoom
Thursday, 5 March, 09.00 am (MEZ)

During a nine-month stay as a visiting student in the lithium-7 laboratory of Wolfgang Ketterle at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, I contributed to the installation of a quantum gas microscope.

My work included the optimisation of a 1064 nm light sheet for two-dimensional confinement, the design and implementation of a DMD-based illumination system (optical layout, alignment, and control), the testing of new vacuum parts and the phase stabilisation of a laser enabling power-efficient high-field, spin-resolved Raman sideband cooling. I will present the technical choices, constraints, and performance achieved for these subsystems, and I am very excited to engage in discussions about physics with you at MPQ.
