Prof. Norman Yao
Prof. Norman Yao from the Department of Physics, Harvard University, Cambridge, USA, is visiting the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics from and the LMU Municht from June 9 to July 31, 2025.
Prof. Norman Yao’s research lies at the interface between AMO physics, condensed matter, and quantum information science. Of late, his research interests include the study of quantum critical quenches, topological phases of matter, passive quantum memories, emergent hydrodynamics and quantum sensing at high pressures. He says he is excited to be in Munich and welcomes anyone to email to set up a discussion. Current collaborations include work with Lode Pollet's group on disordered dipolar systems, and with the Aidelsburger and Bloch groups on quantum dynamics and simulation.
