Group Seminar via video conference (Zoom)
Tuesday, October 19, 9:00 a.m (MEZ)
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the group seminar will be a hybrid event, allowing participants to attend the seminar virtually and in-person. This procedure enables us to continue our research, enhance discussions and exchange important information.
Abstract:
We propose and demonstrate a scalable setup to generate a tunable 1D optical tweezers array. With this system we can trap, detect and cool multiple nanoparticles in the tweezers array. We characterized the tweezers by trapping a particle and measure trapping frequency of its three motion modes. Then, we perform optical-only parametric and linear feedback cooling of a single particle by modulating the RF signal that generates the traps with the signal of particle motions. Finally, we demonstrated linear feedback cooling of both particles in a double tweezers array.
