Group meeting via video conference (Zoom)
Tuesday, April 13, 2021, 9:00am (MEZ)

Dealing with the unique situation of partial lock downs worldwide and home office solutions at our Institute due to the current spreading of the Covid 19 virus, we are now holding our group seminars and journal clubs via video conference.
This procedure enables us to continue our research, enhance discussions and exchange important information.

Abstract:

Rare earth ions as a dopant in nanocrystals are promising candidates for quantum information processing. The long coherence time of their nuclear spin and their optical interface are adequate for quantum networking. In my talk I report on the development of an optical resonator platform out of two micro-machined optical fibers. This platform paves the way for single nuclear spin control and readout. The presented work handles the crucial problem of the integration of a nanocrystal into an all-fiber resonator.
